Open green spaces are considered as an integral part of university campuses worldwide and the related studies
reveal the significant impact of the green spaces on the quality of life in the campuses. Thus, scholars have also stressed
the need of revitalization of outdoor green spaces in the Qatar university campus. This research investigates whether
students‘ perception has an impact on usability of green spaces, precisely, at the Women‘s Engineering Building of
Qatar University. It also considers the extent to which regional factors, such as climate and privacy, as per Islamic value,
impact the perception of usability of open green spaces. A review of the literature was conducted for exploring the
regional influence on perception and usability of green spaces. Site visits and field observation were conducted to
understand the spatial nature of the green spaces in terms of privacy and the types of green space usage in the
surrounding areas of the Women‘s Engineering Building. User‘s perception of green spaces and their impact on usability
were collected through survey questions and questionnaires. In contrast to the views of the scholars, significant
difference between perception and usability of the green spaces along the year, the findings reveal that (1) a certain
resistance to the usage of the green spaces occurs in summer; (2) there is no significant threat to the perception of
privacy, which, in turn, has no impact on the usability of green spaces at Qatar University‘s Women‘s Engineering
Building.

Nigeria’s federal system concentrates enormous political and economic powers in the centre. Thus, politics for
the control of this very powerful centre have always been tense and often result to crises. This paper examines the
political variables that accounted for power-shift, from the incumbent President Goodluck Jonathan of the Peoples’
Democratic Party to Mohammadu Buhari of the All Progressive Congress. The paper holds that Jonathan’s acceptance of
defeat opens a new chapter in the political history of Nigeria, which invariably would translate to the consolidation of
democracy in the country. As a mark of conclusion, the paper suggests the following palliatives: politicians should
sustain the Goodluck Jonathan spirit of sportsmanship, demonetization of the polity and a redefinition of the nation’s
federal system, to devolve more powers to the component parts.

No heart murmur was noted but there was decreased air entry in right lower lobe of the lung. Chest X-ray showed 3rd and 5th rib fractures on the right side as well as lower lobe consolidation. ECG showed sinus tachycardia. The D-dimer level was > 2000ng/mL (normal level < 500 ng/mL). Subcutaneous enoxaparin 40mg (twice daily) was started immediately. Pulmonary CT angiography revealed right pulmonary embolism. Subcutaneous enoxaparin was continued for a couple of days with daily international normalised ratio (INR) check until D-dimer level was < 500 ng/mL

The effect of isoniazid and rifampicin on metabolism dependent hepatotoxicity of methimazole (MMI) was studied in BALB/c mice. Hepatic damage was induced by single intraperitoneal dose of MMI (1000mg/kg). Pretreatment with isoniazid and rifampicin was carried out in separate groups for ten days and six days respectively prior to administration of methimazole. The extent of liver injury was determined by measuring alanine transaminase (ALT), aspartate transaminase (AST), alkaline phosphatase (ALP) along with histopathological analysis of liver samples. The elevation of liver enzyme levels caused by MMI was augmented by rifampicin however; isoniazid exhibited a protective role by preventing MMI induced escalation in serum ALT, AST and ALP. The biochemical findings were also reflected in histological examination. These findings suggest that activity of microsomal enzymes can influence the hepatotoxic potential of MMI

The process of globalization in modern world has affected all spheres of our life – politics, economy and
culture. To realize these processes people should have a common means of communication – a lingua franca. The
English language has become this lingua franca, as about 1, 5 billion people speak English today. People of different
cultural, ethnic and religious identities should have more to share than ever before. And one of the means of their crosscultural communication in many parts of the world today is the English language. People today communicate beyond
national borders by e-mailing, chatting, blogging besides speaking and writing. Global networking has produced new
societies of hybrid and very often conflicting cultures, where people are to become pluricultural individuals. The article
deals with the problems of national language variety definition in general and special lexicography. The definition of the
term “national language” is given; its subcategories, such as “dialect”, “form”, “variety”, and “variant” are analyzed, and
the ways of the national language formation and changes are described.
