The objective of the present study was to develop and optimize an oral pulsatile drug delivery system containing pantoprazole sodium to mimic the circadian rhythm of the peptic ulcer by releasing the drug with a distinct predetermined lag time. Six fast disintegration core tablets were prepared for preliminary trials using direct compression method. The tablets were evaluated for hardness, friability assay and dissolution study. The best formulation were selected for optimization to study the influence of Micro crystalline cellulose (MCC) and Sodium starch glycolate (SSG) using 32 full factorial design.
